Frank the Recruiter

Henry Frank Walker, or “Frank”, is a Marine, a client, and somebody whom I’ve called a friend since 2003. I have a trailer Frank sold me in 2006 in Lakeland, FL that I rent to Canadians every year during the winter. I also spend a couple of weeks a year down at the trailer when I visit Frank. Frank was in the Marine Corps from 11/1/56 to 5/31/77. While in the Marine Corps, Frank also served as a Drill Instructor and a Recruiter. He experienced combat in Vietnam and also taught Martial Arts to other Marines. He was in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.

Frank faced the enemy honorably and intelligently. He now has some issues due to exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. Little did I know my friend Frank was the recruiter for Lester Weber, who went on to posthumously receive the Medal of Honor while with Mike Company 3/7, 1st Marine Division in Vietnam. When Frank discovered that I was also with Mike Company 3/7, 1st Marine Division, he got tearful. Frank then told me the story about the young man he helped out of a situation to become one of the best Marines in history; Lester Weber.

Be sure to read the touching story of Lester Weber as told by Frank Walker
