When David was married to Sherry for 18 years there’s a chore he believed in and participated in that helped keep his head straight.  Many men take the trash out for the family.  He would take out the trash when he was asked like other men would do for their wives. However, David picked his own chores. He cleaned the bathroom and scrubbed the floors regularly.  He believed there’s nothing better than being on all fours.  It reminded him of who he was.  In a moment in time when scrubbing the kitchen floor, he would forget the past and the future; he would concentrate on the moment.  He was participating as a husband and father.  He wasn’t disabled; he was just doing his job.
